OPENING:

ASSISTANT TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Executive Assistant provides executive support in a one-on-one working relationship. The Executive Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for the Executive Director and also serves as a liaison with the Board of Directors and volunteers. The Executive Assistant must be creative and enjoy working in a mission-driven, results-driven, and community-oriented environment. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations and will possess strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills. The ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities is imperative. The Executive Assistant must be able to work under pressure at times to handle various activities and confidential matters with discretion.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide comprehensive support services to the Executive Director, ensuring outstanding communication and responsiveness.
• Provide sophisticated calendar management; prioritize inquiries and requests, troubleshoot conflicts with little guidance, and make judgments and recommendations to ensure smooth day-to-day engagements.
• Support the Executive Director with internal and external communications.
• Conduct research and analysis on issues of interest to the Executive Director.
• Support and manage a high volume of requests and projects to meet the objectives of the Executive Director
• Prepare and edit correspondence, presentations, reports, and memos.
• Support the Executive Director in strategic communications and organizational strategy.
• Organize meetings and events for convening, retreats, various board meetings, and other logistics.
• Support in the development and enactment of volunteer positions, policies, best practices, and training
• Research and implement new ways of reaching out to potential volunteers; post online to website/social media recruiting new volunteers, attend volunteer fairs, visit volunteer partner sites, etc.
• Contribute to the design, implementation, and assessment of volunteer and Grace Kitchen training.
• Interact and build relationships with Grace Kitchen volunteers and volunteer groups.
• Keep a database of volunteer information and skills, track volunteer hours in the database, and match volunteers to opportunities to serve.
• Conveying the mission and purpose of Grace Kitchen to the public.

Qualifications:

A vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and an active member in the local church is required.
Expressed calling and desire to work alongside women survivors of trafficking, addiction, homelessness, and poverty.
Business Administration, Non-Profit Leadership, Social Work, or related major preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to take initiative, multi-task, be flexible, adapt to shifting priorities, and prioritize work.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Good judgment and ability to function independently.
Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, Google Suite, and social media web platforms
Ability to manage up
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacy.

Requirements:

• Trauma Certification Level 1-4 through Atlas Free within the first 3 months of employment
• Ability to pass a background check.

Schedule:

Occasional evenings and weekends are expected in addition to normal business hours of operations 8:30 am- 4:30 pm weekdays (25-30 hours work week)
Location: Grace Kitchen job training facility, Pasco Washington 112 N 2nd Ave; some work can be done remotely.
Job Type: Part-Time Pay: $20.00-22.00 per hour depending on experience.
